|
The Royal Alcázar of Seville is a palace in Seville, Spain, taken over by the Christian king Peter of Castile in the 13th century, but retaining much of the original buildings and decorations of the original Abbadid Muslim residential fortress which had its beginnings in the 8th century. There are more than 50 named rooms and courtyards etc, but even those that were added by the Christian kings were sometimes decorated in a Moorish style. (And there are more than 10 extensive garden areas) |
|
Like much of the Christian palace area, Patio de la Monteria retains areas of Moorish decoration |
